Benefits Specialist

Highline Medical Center has an immediate opening for an experienced Benefits Specialist. In this role you will serve as the first point of contact for employees, and managers to provide accurate benefit plan explanation, and answer benefit enrollment questions. You will be responsible for administering retirement plans and ensuring compliance with federal regulations and state laws. You will research recommended resolution to benefit related issues to best meet the needs of the firm and the plan participants. You will work with vendors and provide data necessary to ensure timely completion of internal audits.

Qualified applicants will have a minimum of 2 years of benefits administration experience, with experience in healthcare or a related field a strong plus. Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality, have excellent communication skills and a strong attention to detail. Math aptitude and analytical skills are required. Must have knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations affecting employers and employees with benefit and leave plans.

Human Resources Assistant

Are you a seasoned HR Assistant with strong computer skills and a great sense of humor? As an HR Assistant at Highline Medical Center, you will work closely with the HR Team to provide outstanding customer service to staff and applicants. You will coordinate employee records and files, respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits, payroll, address changes, employment verifications, etc., accept applications, assemble new hire packets and provide administrative support to the HR Officer and HR Staff, including providing administrative support and coordination on special projects; and faxing and copying.

To be successful in this position you will be a self-starter, have excellent oral and written communication skills, possess strong organizational skills, be detail-oriented, and able to handle many tasks while maintaining strict confidentiality and a sense of humor. You should have 2+ year’s recent office experience in a Human Resources environment. Must have strong skills in Microsoft office Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Outlook. Meditech experience preferred.

Recruitment Coordinator

In this position you will be responsible for assisting the recruiter, hiring managers, external candidates, and employees, throughout the process of recruitment and selection. You will support an efficient and effective recruitment process. You may be the first point of contact for applicants, and will help create a welcoming, positive experience. You will be responsible for helping to coordinate recruitment efforts, projects & programs and manage data for the recruitment function. You will be responsible for posting positions; coordinating online and offline advertising; and ensuring recruitment and hiring data is entered and maintained. You will also be involved in the development and implementation of system and process enhancements to streamline the recruiting process, as well as coordinating such processes (including conducting background checks; scheduling orientation for new hires; and generating offer letters.)

To qualify, you must have an Associate’s (AA) Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of two years’ experience in a fast-paced, customer-focused work environment. Prior human resource experience, in the areas of employment/recruiting required. Experience tracking data & preparing reports using Word, and Excel is essential. Must have excellent customer service skills and the ability to work independently and demonstrate flexibility under rapidly changing priorities. High degree of confidentiality and professional courtesy is required. Experience in health care is strongly preferred.

This position is responsible for developing, planning, implementing, managing and evaluating HR programs and processes to enhance VMMC's strategic plan and goals. The incumbent leads and directs multiple HR work teams that include combinations of the HR Business Partner, Staff Recruiting, Physician Recruiting, Professional Staff Services, and HRIS team members.

This position will manage and administer health and welfare, retirement, and leave of absence (including Worker's Compensation) programs; and will supervise the Benefits team.

This position has the authority to assess HR-related needs of VMMC and develop, recommend and implement new programs and processes. At times, guidelines may not be clearly established requiring the incumbent to demonstrate leadership and judgment in assessing the need for, and if needed, establishing new programs and processes. This position works collaboratively with all levels of management to guide, influence and facilitate decisions regarding HR issues which could have major impact on VMMC. The incumbent has the authority to make exceptions to VMMC policy and procedure where appropriate. This position also makes hiring and disciplinary decisions, and develops and administers a budget.
