TheCPI-W,whichisusedinthiscalculation,isameasureoftheaveragechangeinpricesovertimeofgoodsandservicespurchasedbyurbanwageearnersandclericalworkers.Goodsandservicesaredeterminedasthosethingspeoplebuyforday-to5 daylivingsuchasfood,clothing,shelter,andfuels,andservicessuchasdoctorvisits. WSHAhashostedtwomeetingswithbothurbanandruralhospitalmemberstogaininputonourwork.WeareattemptingtonegotiatewiththeunionstogaintheiracceptanceofarevisionofexistingL&Irulesonbreaksasanalternativetolegislation.Todatewehavenotmadeanyfirm,jointcommitments,beyondouragreementtocontinuetoworktogethertotrytofindajointsolutioninthisarea.WehavecommittedtoworkthroughOctoberonthisissueandifwedonotreachagreementbythattimewedoexpecttheunionstointroducelegislationonbraks.SeveralofuswillbemeetingwithL&Inextweektotrytogaintheiragreementforswiftadoptionofarulesrevisionifweareabletoreachagreementwiththeunions.Hopethishelps...wecontinuetoworkonyourbehalftosupportourhospitals.
